94-year-old WW2 veteran Sheridan Atkinson will be the special guest of honour at the Mon. Nov. 9 Toronto premiere of "Bond of Strangers - The Operation Husky Story" and launch of Mark Zuehlke's new book "Through Blood and Sweat - A Remembrance Trek Across Sicily's WW2 Battlegrounds." 6:30 pm Bloor Hot Docs Cinema. Sherry is a veteran of the original Operation Husky in Sicily in 1943 and the 70th annniversary pilgrimage in 2013, which is the subject of Max Fraser's new documentary as well as Zuehlke's new book. Sherry is a wonderful person who is committed to reclaiming lost history and honouring the fallen. His story is featured in the film and the book. Sherry and Susan are making the long drive from London ON to Toronto for this event because it's important.
